How the Lord Led Me to the FTTA, Melinda Kong

Since my baptism on July 14, 1991, I have been pursuing the Lord with other Christians who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22). I also consecrated myself to join the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) to be trained in Bible truth and church service in order to serve the Lord better.

When I went to England to study on a full government scholarship, I met with the local churches there and saw how the Lord had gathered people from different nations, races, cultures and backgrounds to express His one unique Body. I also saw that the gospel harvest is great but the workers are few (Matthew 9:37). I prayed that the Lord would send me wherever He wanted me to go.

During one summer break, I went to visit the brothers and sisters meeting with the local churches in Moscow and St. Petersburg. I was impressed with the young people there who had consecrated themselves to join the Full-Time Training in Moscow (FTTM). They applauded and shouted “Hallelujahs!” upon hearing their acceptance to FTTM. My desire to join FTTA was strengthened.

Due to the scholarship that I had received, I had to fulfill a contract with the Malaysian government after graduation. I planned to resign from my job to join the FTTA after the contract ended. Nevertheless, while I was working, I was promoted twice and received an “Award of Excellent Service” from the government. When the time came for me to resign I began to hesitate, but the Lord was faithful to remind me of my consecration. During one Christian meeting, when I was testifying about Mary's love for the Lord, how she was willing to give her best (an alabaster flask of great value) to the Lord, I realized that I was not like her. I prayed to the Lord regarding the situation of my heart. By the Lord's constraining mercy I decided to resign from my job. When I handed in my resignation letter, I was filled with joy and peace.

Now, I am in my third term in the FTTA, enjoying the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. To me, the FTTA is the greatest place on earth. It is worth paying the price to be here.
